A fun and easy mindful activity to do with your children at home or somewhere in nature is the Senses Walk. Find a short path and start by standing together in one place for a few moments.
Then take 5 steps together and invite them to join you in sharing “I see…”. Then take another 5 steps together and suggest another sense:
- I see..
- I smell..
- I hear..
- I feel..
Take it slow. Don’t rush.
Encourage them to remain quiet while walking and instead focusing on observing their surroundings using their senses.
This is a lovely mindful activity that can be done almost anywhere with your child.
